Interest Rate Added To Death Claims

Nebraska statute 44-3,143 reads: Interest shall accrue from the date of receipt of proof of death to the date of payment at the rate calculated pursuant to section 45-103 in effect on January 1 of the calendar year in which occurs the date of receipt of proof of death. The court sets the rate, and the court may change the rate during the year, but the rate in effect on January 1 applies to death claims. The web site of the court can be found at:
