Medicare & You Day

Following the training, NICA volunteers joined the public in attending the first Medicare & You Day event on October 26. Approximately, 300 people attended this event.
The Nebraska Medicare Beneficiary Coalition in conjunction with the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) worked to develop "Medicare & You Day."
Participants learned more about Medicare Part A and Part B, patient hospital rights, durable medical equipment, and updates on Medicare. There were several refreshment break sponsors, door prizes were donated by sponsors, and ten exhibitors participated. Mary Lanning Hospital provided flu shots.
This was a full, successful day of Medicare education, health screenings and information booths.
