VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHTS
New NICA Volunteers
Initial training was held for two days on April 12 and 13 at the South Central Area Agency on Aging in Kearney. Eight people completed the training and became NICA Volunteers. They are: Kathy Gruba of Hastings, Patricia Gruwell of Alma, Ruby Hays of Kearney, DeeAnne Henke of Alma, Dorothy Lee of Burwell, Deborah Mohlman of Geneva, Linda Sample of Clay Center, and Sandy Skillett of Broken Bow.
Fall Update - October 26 - Hastings
NICA Volunteers will soon be receiving information on the Fall updates. This year, NICA is having one update and it will be in Hastings at the Medicare & You Day event. The NICA Program Office and the Regional Representatives have decided this would be a nice change of pace. Please keep Oct. 16 free on your calendar and additional information will be arriving shortly.
Lifelong Living Festival
NICA had a Medicare information booth at the Lifelong Living Festival for Seniors and their Families, held May 18, at the Lincoln Gateway Mall. There were over 60 exhibitors and more than 3,000 people attended the event.
