GREETINGS

I would like to thank all of you who took the time to respond to my letter that I sent a few months ago. In that letter, I asked if you were still interested in maintaining your current volunteer status. I am pleased to announce that the majority of volunteers were still committed to the NICA Program and wanted to continue volunteering in their communities. The volunteers that decided to carry on with the NICA Program will see some exciting new changes in the next year.

We have been working hard at the program office to write a new NICA Training Manual. This manual has been sent to the printers and you should receive a copy in a few weeks. You will notice that the new manual has a lot more information, an extended resource directory, additional chapters and a new fresh look. This new manual will replace your current manual.

We have also been working on a special outreach project for you to participate in. This project is a traveling Medicare Information Booth that can be used at county fairs, health fairs, shopping malls or other exhibit opportunities. The booth will include a portable exhibit complete with brochures and NICA information. Your Regional Representative will be able to keep the booth equipment for your use locally.

Finally, we have been working on a new training format. Because we have a new training manual, we thought it would be a great time to change some of the training formats. These changes will mostly affect the initial trainings. The fall updates will continue as they have for the past few years.

There are a lot of new and exciting changes happening with the NICA program. I hope that you are as proud to be a part of this program as I am.
