VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHTS

Wilma Barry

Wilma Barry spoke at the Sherman County Senior Center in Loup City on June 9, regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and the Medicine Program. Seventy-eight people attended.

Wayne Kempf

Wayne spoke at the Shickley Senior Citizen's Center on June 26 to sixteen people. Wayne presented information about Stopping Medicare Fraud, Medicare Health Screenings, Where to Get Medicare Answers, and Personal Medical Record Sheets.

Mary Wilson

Mary Wilson and Craig Buford, NICA Regional Representatives for the Western region, spoke at the Scottsbluff Senior Center and the Chadron Senior Center in June. Sixty-eight people attended.

Jim O'Donnell

Jim O'Donnell, a NICA Volunteer in the VIE Eastern area, spoke to the Keystone Senior Citizens Group in Omaha. Fourteen people attended. He showed the Medicare & You 2001 video. (Don't forget, copies of this video are available for NICA Volunteers to use in their presentations.)

Jean Van Mark

Jean Van Mark, a NICA Volunteer in the West Central region, showed the video Medicare & You 2001, in April, at the Lexington Grand Generation Center. Eighteen people attended.

Norma Phillips

NICA Volunteer, Norma Phillips spoke at the Seniors Home in North Platte, in June, to ten people. Her topic was Long-Term Care Insurance.

Barbara Graham

Barbara Graham was busy at the Hamilton County Fair in Aurora passing out Medicare information to an estimated 500 people. Barbara handed out information about Medicare Fraud, Medicare Supplement Insurance, Long-Term Care Insurance, general Medicare and NICA Program information.

Jim & Wilma Barry and Adalia Brophy

NICA Volunteers, Jim and Wilma Barry spent three days at the Sherman County Fair in Loup City, Nebraska, in July. Adalia Brophy helped Jim and Wilma for three hours during those three days.

Laura Kruse

On August 21, at the Nebraska-Iowa State Bank, in South Sioux City, Nebraska, NICA Volunteer Laura Kruse gave a presentation to the bank's senior club. Following dinner, more than forty people listened as Laura explained the NICA program and answered questions regarding Medicare. Laura handed out magnets, as well as brochures.

Sunny Kontor

The Saline County Fair, held in August, was where NICA Volunteer Sunny Kontor presented Medicare information.

New Reporting Forms Training

Tiffany Geis, the NICA Program Coordinator, gave several presentations around the state during July and August to explain the new reporting forms. The following NICA Volunteers attended:
