Medicaid Guidelines --from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
CIGNA
To find out if a medical equipment item may be covered, or if you have Durable Medical Equipment Regional Carrier (DMERC) questions, call
1-800-899-7095. Remember, just because your doctor prescribes a medical equipment item, does not mean it will be covered by Medicare. For example, Medicare does not cover exercise equipment, bathtub rails, shower chairs, etc. Remember to always look at the Part B Explanation of Your Benefit form to see if what you were billed for is what you received. If you want to write CIGNA Medicare, the address is P.O. Box 690, Nashville, TN 37202.
NEW GUIDES
The 1998 Guide To Health Insurance for People with Medicare has arrived. We will be enclosing a copy with your newsletter. Please put it in your NICA Manual, replacing the 1997 Guide. If you need additional copies, please let our office know. Refer to those items in the "Table of Contents" that are marked
If you have questions about these items, give us a call. The manuals and the new Medicare guidelines will be reviewed at the update session in your area.
