He had an interest in the $1500 deductible plan to save money. Volunteer explained to them that if they wanted to take a policy that would pay better after a few years, they would run into underwriting. This gave them second thoughts. This couple was using good judgment in looking at several medigap policies and comparing the plans. NICA Volunteers can discuss the medigap plans A-J and provide beneficiaries with a rate guide to compare premiums. The additional information the Volunteer gave helped the couple to make better informed decisions.
